Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, it’s crucial to remove the saltiness from the croaker. Soak the fish in cold water for about 2 to 3 hours to thoroughly leach out the salt. Afterward, meticulously scrape off the scales, trim the fins and tail cleanly, and prepare the fish. Finally, make shallow, parallel cuts about 2-3 cm apart on both sides of the fish’s body. This helps the flavors penetrate deeply and ensures a beautiful presentation as it cooks.

Step 2

Now, let’s prepare to grill the fish. Lightly and evenly brush the air fryer basket or tray with cooking oil. This prevents the fish from sticking and helps it cook to a crispier texture. Gently brush both sides of the prepared croaker with cooking oil as well. Place the prepared fish into the air fryer and cook at 180°C (356°F) for 20 minutes. Flipping it halfway through will ensure more even cooking.

Step 3

After 20 minutes, admire the beautifully grilled croaker. It should be golden brown on the outside and wonderfully moist on the inside.

Step 4

Carefully transfer the cooked croaker to a serving plate. Your healthy and delicious low-sodium grilled croaker is now ready to be enjoyed. It’s best served warm!
