Ingredients
- CJ Healthier Whole Pork Neck Steak 1 piece
- Onion 1/2
- Green onion 1/5 stalk
- Cooked rice 1 serving
Sauce
- Bulgogi sauce 100ml
- Oligosaccharide 1 Tbsp
- Mirin (or cooking wine) 1 Tbsp
- Bulgogi sauce 100ml
- Oligosaccharide 1 Tbsp
- Mirin (or cooking wine) 1 Tbsp
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the vegetables for the rice bowl. Peel and thinly slice 1/2 onion. Slice the green onion diagonally into about 5cm lengths.
Step 2
Now, let’s make the delicious sauce for the steak. In a bowl, combine 100ml of store-bought bulgogi sauce, 1 Tbsp of oligosaccharide, and 1 Tbsp of mirin. Mix well. You can also use honey or other sweeteners instead of oligosaccharide.
Step 3
Place 1 CJ Healthier Whole Pork Neck Steak in a preheated frying pan and grill until golden brown on both sides. It tastes even better when the outside is crispy. Cook over medium heat to ensure it’s cooked through.
Step 4
Once the whole pork neck steak is nicely grilled, pour the prepared bulgogi sauce into the frying pan. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer, basting the steak with the sauce until it thickens slightly and coats the meat.
Step 5
When the sauce has reduced and beautifully coated the steak, add the sliced green onions. Stir-fry quickly over high heat for about 30 seconds to release their aroma. Be careful not to overcook the green onions so they don’t become too soft.
Step 6
Transfer the well-glazed steak from the pan and cut it into bite-sized pieces (about 2-3 cm). Cutting the steak while it’s still warm will help maintain its shape and prevent it from crumbling.
Step 7
Now, let’s assemble the delicious rice bowl! Place 1 serving of warm cooked rice in a bowl. Top with the thinly sliced onions, the bite-sized pork neck steak, and the fragrant green onions. For an extra touch, you can add a raw egg yolk or a dab of wasabi (Japanese horseradish) to enhance the flavor. Enjoy your delicious pork neck steak rice bowl!
