Ingredients
- 400g Jerusalem artichokes
- 1 liter water
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare 400g of Jerusalem artichokes. Wash them thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or debris. Then, slice them thinly using a knife. Thin slices will help them dehydrate better. Place the sliced Jerusalem artichokes in a L’EQUIP dehydrator and dry them until they become crisp and brittle. Using a dehydrator makes it easy to control the temperature and humidity for efficient drying.
Step 2
Now it’s time to roast the dried Jerusalem artichokes. Get a wide frying pan and heat it over low heat. The roasting process enhances the nutty flavor of the Jerusalem artichokes, removes any remaining moisture, and deepens the tea’s taste.
Step 3
The flavor of the tea varies depending on the number of times you roast it. As you can see in the picture, the Jerusalem artichokes at the top of the container have been roasted 9 times, while those at the bottom have been roasted 5 times. Roasting 9 times definitely brings out a richer, more delicious nutty flavor. It’s important to stir continuously while roasting to prevent them from burning.
Step 4
Let’s brew some delicious Jerusalem Artichoke Tea! Take about a handful of the roasted Jerusalem artichokes (you can adjust the amount to your preference) and 1 liter of clean water. Place them in a pot and simmer gently over very low heat for about 1 hour and 30 minutes. Nowadays, using a teapot to brew the tea can save time and is much more convenient for extracting the flavor.
