Cooking Instructions
Step 1
To easily drain the oil from the canned tuna, tilt the lid slightly. Make sure to drain the oil completely before preparing. This step ensures a clean and pleasant taste for your salad.
Step 2
Cut the paprika into flower shapes using a cookie cutter for decoration. Finely dice the onion. Chop any leftover paprika scraps from making the flowers and add them to the salad. Thinly slice the black olives, finely chop the pickles, and have the cranberries ready.
Step 3
In a large bowl, combine the drained tuna, prepared vegetables, cranberries, olives, and chopped pickles. Add all the ingredients for the tuna salad dressing and mix well.
Step 4
Mix everything together thoroughly until well combined. This will result in a wonderfully fresh and creamy tuna salad. The salad can be used immediately or chilled in the refrigerator for a short period.
Step 5
Now, let’s make the sandwiches. Spread a thin layer of fig jam on one slice of bread, then place a slice of cheddar cheese on top. Generously add the prepared tuna salad, and top with the other slice of bread. Your delicious tuna sandwich is complete! Feel free to use your favorite alternative jam for a different flavor profile.
Step 6
Next, let’s assemble the tuna canapes. Spread chestnut jam on a cracker, then add a slice of cheddar cheese. Top with a portion of the tuna salad, and then decorate beautifully with the paprika flowers you made earlier. Using a different jam here is also a great option.
Step 7
For the final touch on the tuna canapes, place a tiny drop of ketchup in the center of each paprika flower. This small addition makes the canapes look even more appealing and appetizing.
Step 8
These fresh and creamy tuna sandwiches are an excellent snack for children. Serve them with a glass of cold milk for a nutritious and delicious treat that kids will love.
Step 9
Furthermore, the colorful and beautifully decorated tuna canapes are perfect as appetizers or finger foods for home parties and gatherings. They are sure to impress your guests with both their appearance and taste.
