Main Ingredients
  • 1/2 Apple
  • 1/2 Pear
  • A small bunch of Chives

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the seasoning mixture for your delicious apple and pear kkakdugi. In a bowl, combine the gochugaru, minced garlic, sugar, finely minced saeujeot, and fish sauce. Mix well and let it sit for a moment to allow the flavors to meld. Mincing the salted shrimp beforehand helps the seasoning coat the ingredients more effectively.

Step 2

Wash the apples and pears thoroughly, peel them, and then cut them into bite-sized cubes, similar to how you would cut radish for kkakdugi. Cut the chives into similar lengths as well. It’s best to cut the fruits into a substantial size; if they are too small, they might become mushy.

Step 3

Place the prepared apples and pears into a bowl. Add all of the prepared seasoning mixture. Gently toss everything together using a spoon or your hands, ensuring the seasoning evenly coats the fruit. Be careful not to overmix, as this could cause the fruit pieces to break apart.

Step 4

Finally, add the chopped chives and gently mix them in. Your delicious apple and pear kkakdugi is now ready! You can enjoy it immediately, or chill it in the refrigerator for a little while to experience an even cooler and more refreshing taste.
