‘Ramyun Kkiri Namja’ (Rakkiman), where Kang Ho Dong travels the country to cook the most delicious ramen in the most perfect settings, is set to revolutionize your winter! This episode features a special ramen recipe loaded with savory squid, promising a heartwarming and flavorful experience perfect for a cold evening.
Ingredients
- 1 pack of instant ramen (your favorite brand)
- 1 whole squid (cleaned and prepared)
- 1/2 cup of Chonggak Kimchi (ponytail radish kimchi), chopped
- 1/2 stalk of green onion, sliced diagonally
- 1 Tbsp minced garlic
- 1 packet of ramen soup powder
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare all the ingredients to make this incredibly delicious squid ramen. Clean the squid thoroughly and cut it into bite-sized pieces. Have your Chonggak Kimchi ready, including both the kimchi and some of its brine. Slice the green onion diagonally. Mince the garlic.
Step 2
In a pot, add 500ml of water (about 2.5 cups) and bring it to a boil over high heat. Once the water is vigorously boiling, add the chopped Chonggak Kimchi, the ramen soup powder, and the dried vegetable packet. This combination forms the flavorful base of your broth.
Step 3
When the water returns to a rolling boil, add the ramen noodles. Once the noodles are about 70% cooked (still slightly firm), add the prepared squid. It’s important not to overcook the squid, as it can become tough. Adding it towards the end ensures a delightfully chewy texture. This is the key to perfectly cooked squid!
Step 4
Finally, toss in the sliced green onions for a fresh, crisp element. If you enjoy extra spice, you can also add some chopped Cheongyang chili peppers (optional). Let it simmer for another moment until everything is well combined and the enticing aroma fills your kitchen. Turn off the heat and savor this incredible ramen – the rich, refreshing broth and chewy squid are a match made in heaven!
