Essential Ingredients
  • 3 fresh corn cobs
  • 3 Tbsp granulated sugar (for boiling corn)

Brining Liquid Ingredients
  • 1 L water
  • 1/2 paper cup granulated sugar (approx. 80g)
  • 1 Tbsp salt (approx. 10g)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

To preserve the corn’s fresh flavor, remove the husks and silks. Carefully cut the kernels off the cob. It’s best to do this over a large bowl to catch any stray kernels.

Step 2

In a pot, combine the corn kernels and 3 tablespoons of sugar. Add enough water to cover the kernels. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to medium heat and simmer for about 10 minutes until the kernels are tender. Drain the cooked corn kernels using a sieve.

Step 3

In a separate pot, combine 1 liter of water, 1/2 paper cup of sugar (approx. 80g), and 1 tablespoon of salt (approx. 10g). Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until both the sugar and salt are completely dissolved.

Step 4

Once the brining liquid is simmering, add the pre-boiled corn kernels to the pot. Bring it back to a gentle boil for a short while to allow the corn to absorb the delicious flavors. Keep an eye on the heat.

Step 5

Carefully transfer the finished canned corn into sterilized glass jars. Ensure the corn is fully submerged in the brining liquid. Seal the jars and let them cool completely at room temperature before refrigerating. For the best taste, it’s recommended to consume within 2 weeks.
