Ingredients
  • 15g Matcha powder
  • 50g Heavy cream
  • 50g Milk
  • 10g Sugar
  • 5-6 Ice cubes
  • 1 Double shot of espresso

Step 1

The ratio of ingredients is crucial for a perfect matcha latte, so let’s use a scale for precise measurements. First, carefully measure out 10g of matcha powder. Using high-quality matcha will significantly enhance the flavor.

Step 2

Next, measure 10g of white sugar. You can adjust the sweetness to your preference, but this is a good starting point.

Step 3

In a small bowl, combine the matcha powder and sugar. Add a small amount of hot water and whisk or stir until smooth and lump-free, creating a matcha paste. The hot water helps to bloom the matcha and dissolve the sugar completely.

Step 4

Measure out 50g of fresh heavy cream. Ensure the cream is cold, as this will help it whip up into a lovely, light texture.

Step 5

Add about one tablespoon of the prepared matcha paste to the cold heavy cream. You can adjust the amount of matcha paste here depending on how intense you like your matcha flavor.

Step 6

Now, using an electric frother or a whisk, whip the cream and matcha paste until soft, fluffy peaks form. You’re looking for a consistency that’s creamy but can still be spooned on top, not stiff like for frosting.

Step 7

Prepare a double shot of espresso. Freshly brewed espresso will provide the best flavor base for your latte. Now, we’ll assemble all the elements to create your beautiful matcha cream latte.

Start by pouring the prepared matcha paste mixture into the bottom of your serving glass. This adds a layer of flavor and creates a beautiful visual effect.

Add 5 to 6 ice cubes to the glass. The ice will keep your drink refreshingly cold and also help create distinct layers.

Gently pour 50g of cold milk over the ice cubes. Pouring slowly down the side of the glass can help prevent the ice from mixing too much.

Finally, generously spoon the fluffy matcha cream mixture on top of the latte. For a beautiful finish, you can lightly dust with a bit more matcha powder.
