Main Ingredients
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/3 block firm tofu (approx. 100g)
  • A small amount of green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 sheet roasted seaweed (gim)

Seasoning
  • 1 Tbsp soy sauce (for soup/light soy sauce)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, lightly pat the tofu with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Cut the tofu into pieces that are easy to mash. Finely chop the green onion. If preparing this as a lunchbox side dish, having all ingredients ready beforehand will significantly speed up your cooking time.

Step 2

In a bowl, combine the mashed tofu, 3 eggs, chopped green onion, and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce. Whisk everything together thoroughly with a fork or chopsticks until well combined and smooth, ensuring there are no large lumps of tofu. Taste and add a little more soy sauce if needed.

Step 3

Heat a lightly oiled non-stick pan over medium-low heat. Pour the egg and tofu mixture into the pan, spreading it out into a round, relatively flat shape. Be careful to prevent sticking. Once the surface begins to set slightly, carefully place pieces of roasted seaweed on top of the batter. Gently press down on the seaweed to help it adhere.

Step 4

Once the bottom is golden brown and cooked through, carefully flip the fritter. Cook the side with the seaweed until it’s also golden brown and slightly crispy. This should take about 3-5 minutes in total, ensuring the inside is cooked through and moist. Serve immediately while warm for the best texture and flavor!
