Ingredients
  • 50g Sausage (recommend low-sodium type for kids)
  • 40g Onion
  • 1 Tbsp Cooking Oil
  • 0.2 tsp Salt (optional, adjust to taste)
  • 0.3 tsp Toasted Sesame Seeds

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Before you begin, please check and prepare all the ingredients listed for this recipe. For the sausage, it’s a good idea to briefly blanch it in hot water; this helps remove any unwanted odor and makes it even safer for your child. Once blanched, slice the sausage into bite-sized pieces that are easy for your toddler to eat.

Step 2

Next, prepare the onion, which will add a lovely sweetness to the dish. Dice about 40g of onion into small, bite-sized cubes, similar in size to the sausage pieces. Cutting them small will make it easier for your toddler to chew and enjoy.

Step 3

Let’s start cooking! Heat a frying pan over medium heat and add about 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. Be mindful not to add too much oil, as it can make the dish feel too greasy for a child.

Step 4

Add the diced onions to the heated pan first. Stir-fry them gently until they become slightly translucent. This step is key to bringing out the natural sweetness of the onions.

Step 5

Once the onions are nicely translucent, add all the prepared sausage pieces to the pan. Continue to stir-fry everything together, ensuring the sausage doesn’t stick to the pan.

Step 6

Now, season the stir-fry with about 0.2 teaspoons of salt. Adjust the amount based on your child’s preference; you can omit the salt entirely if you prefer to serve it less salty. Stir-fry for about 1 more minute to allow the flavors to meld together beautifully.

Step 7

Transfer the delicious sausage and onion stir-fry to a serving dish. Finally, sprinkle about 0.3 teaspoons of toasted sesame seeds on top for an extra nutty aroma and flavor. Your wonderful homemade side dish is now ready!
