Main Ingredients
  • Beef Brisket 300g
  • Dried Sliced Seaweed 1 cup (approx. 20-30g)
  • Water 2.5L

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the dried seaweed. Place the dried seaweed in a bowl and soak it in cold water for about 10-20 minutes until fully rehydrated. Rinse the rehydrated seaweed thoroughly under cold running water. Squeeze out excess water by hand, then cut it into bite-sized pieces (about 5cm long).

Step 2

Heat a pot over medium-high heat and add 5 tablespoons of sesame oil. Add the beef brisket and stir-fry until the surface is browned. Once the beef is partially cooked, add the rehydrated seaweed and continue to stir-fry together for another 2-3 minutes. You’ll notice the seaweed wilting and releasing a fragrant aroma.

Step 3

After stir-frying the beef and seaweed, pour in 2.5 liters of water and bring to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, reduce the heat to medium-low. Add 5 tablespoons of soy sauce for soup, 3 tablespoons of Yeondoo, 2 tablespoons of anchovy fish sauce, and 1 tablespoon of minced garlic. Stir well to combine. Cover the pot and simmer for at least 40 minutes to allow the flavors to meld and deepen. The longer it simmers, the richer the broth will become. Taste and adjust the seasoning with salt (about 1 Tbsp, or to your preference) if needed.
