Main Ingredients
  • Pork belly slices (thinly sliced, approx. 250-300g or 5 strips)
  • 1 stalk of green onion
  • 1 bowl of cooked rice, warm

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, cut the thinly sliced pork belly into bite-sized pieces, about 2-3 cuts per strip. This makes it easier to eat later.

Step 2

Wash the green onion thoroughly and finely chop it. You can chop both the white and green parts. Finely chopped green onion will release its aromatic oils more easily.

Step 3

Heat about 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the chopped green onion and sauté gently until fragrant and fragrant oil is released (about 2-3 minutes). Be careful not to burn it.

Step 4

Once the green onion oil is fragrant, add the thinly sliced pork belly to the pan. Stir-fry the pork belly, breaking it up as it cooks, as it’s very thin and cooks quickly.

Step 5

When the pork belly is about 70-80% cooked and has changed color, add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and 1 tablespoon of corn syrup. Drizzle them around the edges of the pan. Quickly stir-fry everything together to coat the pork belly evenly with the sauce, ensuring it doesn’t burn. Continue to cook until glossy.

Step 6

Once the pork belly is fully cooked and has a glossy finish, turn off the heat. Spoon the cooked pork belly and its sauce generously over a bowl of warm rice. For an extra touch, you can garnish with shredded seaweed (gim) or sesame seeds if desired.
