Main Ingredients
- 1 Pollock Roe (Myeongnan-jeot)
- 1 piece Butter (approx. 10g)
- A pinch of Scallions (Jjokpa)
- 1 bowl Warm Rice (150g)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, carefully remove the outer membrane from the pollack roe using a knife, and then finely mince the roe inside. Wash and finely chop the scallions. It’s important to loosen the pollack roe well to prevent it from clumping.
Step 2
Melt the butter in a heated pan over low heat. Controlling the heat to prevent the butter from burning is the key to delicious fried rice.
Step 3
Once the butter is completely melted, add the minced pollack roe to the pan and stir-fry over low heat. Gently break apart the pollack roe with a spatula as you stir-fry it. The unique umami flavor of the roe will begin to meld with the butter.
Step 4
When the pollack roe is somewhat cooked and has changed color, add the prepared scallions and stir-fry for about 30 seconds, just enough to mix them in. The fresh aroma of the scallions will add to the rich flavor.
Step 5
Finally, add the warm rice to the pan and gently stir-fry until all ingredients are well combined. Be sure to mix lightly so the rice grains don’t clump. Once all ingredients are thoroughly mixed, turn off the heat and serve the delicious Pollock Roe Butter Fried Rice in a nice bowl. Enjoy!
