Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare one pack of ‘The Bibigo Beef Cartilage Soup’. Since it’s a pre-cooked product, you can easily enjoy its deep broth flavor.
Step 2
Measure out all the sauce ingredients, which are key to the spicy flavor of the noodles. Combine them in a small bowl and mix well. Ensure the doubanjiang, peanut butter, oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame seeds, and pepper are thoroughly blended.
Step 3
Wash the green onion thoroughly. Separate the white and green parts. Thinly julienne the white part and soak it in cold water for about 5 minutes to mellow its pungency. Drain completely and set aside as green onion shreds. Thinly slice the red chili pepper diagonally for garnish.
Step 4
Now it’s time to cook the noodles. Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add the fresh noodles or somen noodles for one serving, cooking according to the package instructions. Once cooked, quickly rinse the noodles under cold water to remove excess starch. Drain them thoroughly in a colander. (If you prefer them warmer, you can briefly re-heat them in hot broth, a technique called ‘to-ryeom’.)
Step 5
Next, we’ll heat the broth. Pour the ‘The Bibigo Beef Cartilage Soup’ into a pot and bring it to a simmer over medium heat. Once the broth is boiling, add all the prepared spicy sauce ingredients and stir well to dissolve. Then, bring it to a rolling boil over high heat to ensure the sauce is fully incorporated into the broth.
Step 6
Place the drained noodles into your serving bowl. Ladle the hot, freshly boiled beef cartilage soup generously over the noodles. Garnish with the prepared crisp green onion shreds and red chili pepper slices. Finish with a sprinkle of toasted sesame seeds and a pinch of black pepper for extra flavor. The broth is so rich and savory, you’ll find yourself wanting to add rice to finish every last drop!
