These ‘Mushroom Pizzas’ are a delightful and simple dish where you top fresh mushroom caps with pizza toppings and melted cheese. They are perfect for camping trips or as a unique side dish when grilling meat. Ingredients
- 1 pack (approx. 10-15 mushrooms) fresh button mushrooms
- 1/2 medium onion
- 1 slice bacon
- 1 bag (approx. 100-150g) shredded pizza cheese (mozzarella works well)
- 3 Tbsp tomato sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp dried parsley flakes
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Gently twist or carefully cut off the stems from the button mushrooms. You can leave the darker gills inside the mushroom cap as they are.
Step 2
Finely dice the onion and place a spoonful into each mushroom cap. Next, finely chop the cooked bacon and sprinkle it over the onion. Spoon about 1 tablespoon of tomato sauce onto the bacon. Finally, generously top each mushroom with shredded pizza cheese.
Step 3
Arrange the stuffed mushrooms in your air fryer basket. Cook at 180°C (350°F) for approximately 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly, and the mushrooms are tender. Cooking time may vary depending on your air fryer model.
