Main Ingredients
  • 1 serving Ramen noodles
  • 1 block Golden Curry Roux (Spicy flavor recommended, approx. 23g)
  • 30g Onion
  • 2 Sausages (approx. 50g)
  • 1/2 packet Ramen soup base (Jin Ramen Mild recommended)
  • 400g Hot water
  • 1 Tbsp Butter (approx. 7g)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder (or minced garlic)
  • Pinch of Black pepper
  • 50g Milk

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

This recipe uses the ‘Spicy’ flavor of Golden Curry roux for a more robust taste. Golden Curry comes in various heat levels like ‘Spicy’ and ‘Medium Hot’. We recommend the ‘Spicy’ version for a pleasant kick that is noticeable but not overwhelming for most palates. If you don’t have block curry, you can substitute about 40g of powdered curry per serving.

Step 2

First, dice the 30g of onion into 1cm cubes. Slice the 2 sausages (about 50g) diagonally into bite-sized pieces. Add the diced onion, sliced sausages, and 1 tsp of garlic powder (or minced garlic) into the inner pot of your rice cooker. Feel free to use chicken breast cubes or diced pork instead of sausages for a different protein option.

Step 3

Next, add 1 block of Golden Curry roux and 1/2 packet of ramen soup base to the rice cooker pot. Using the soup base from ‘Jin Ramen Mild’ creates a wonderful harmony with the curry. The ‘Neoguri Ramen’ soup base can also add a unique depth of flavor.

Step 4

Carefully pour 400g of freshly boiled hot water into the rice cooker pot. Stir gently with a spatula to dissolve the curry roux and soup base as much as possible. It’s okay if they aren’t fully dissolved at this stage. Select the ‘Reheat’ or ‘Cook’ function on your rice cooker and set it for 9 minutes. This initial heating helps the flavors begin to meld.

Step 5

While the rice cooker is operating, slice the approximate 30g of zucchini into 1cm thick rounds, and then cut these into 1cm cubes. These zucchini pieces will add a lovely texture and a touch of freshness when added to the ramen later.

Step 6

Once the initial 9-minute heating cycle is complete, add 1 tablespoon of butter (about 7g) and 50g of milk to the pot. Stir again to completely dissolve any remaining chunks of curry roux. Adding milk helps to soften the savory notes from the ramen soup base and enriches the overall curry flavor, making it creamier and more balanced.

Step 7

Now, carefully place 1 serving of ramen noodles into the center of the pot. Arrange the sliced sausages around the noodles, and tuck the prepared zucchini cubes into the broth around the edges. Select the ‘Reheat’ or ‘Cook’ function again for another 9 minutes. This will ensure the noodles are cooked perfectly and all the ingredients’ flavors meld beautifully.

Step 8

After the second 9-minute cycle, your delicious Golden Curry Ramen is ready! For an extra touch of aroma and flavor, you can sprinkle a pinch of black pepper on top before serving. Enjoy this warm, hearty, and flavorful bowl of curry ramen!
