Main Ingredients
- 4 slices of sliced bread (approx. 200g)
- 20g unsalted butter
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare 4 slices of sliced bread, which will form the base of your delicious garlic bread.
Step 2
Cut the bread slices into your desired serving size and shape. Typically, slicing them diagonally twice to form triangles looks very appealing. However, you can also cut them into squares or rectangles based on your preference.
Step 3
Arrange the cut bread slices neatly on a cutting board or a large plate. This makes it convenient to spread the sauce evenly.
Step 4
Place 20g of unsalted butter in a microwave-safe bowl. To prevent splattering and to ensure smoother melting, loosely cover one side of the bowl with plastic wrap. Avoid sealing it completely, as this can cause the wrap to inflate dangerously.
Step 5
Microwave the butter-covered bowl in 30-second intervals, repeating 2-3 times until the butter is completely melted. The melting time can vary depending on the thickness of the butter and whether it’s refrigerated or frozen, so keep an eye on it and melt accordingly.
Step 6
Once the butter is fully melted, carefully remove the bowl from the microwave and take off the plastic wrap. It’s best to proceed to the next step while the melted butter is still warm.
Step 7
Add the ingredients that will give your garlic bread its signature flavor to the melted butter. Measure and add 2 Tbsp of mayonnaise, 1 Tbsp of white sugar, 1 Tbsp of minced garlic, and 0.4 Tbsp of dried parsley flakes for aroma.
Step 8
Using a spatula or spoon, stir the melted butter and all the sauce ingredients until they are well combined and form a smooth, uniform mixture. Achieving a consistent sauce is key.
Step 9
Generously spread the garlic sauce onto the prepared bread slices using a brush. Make sure to cover the top and the sides of the bread evenly for maximum flavor in every bite. For an optional touch, you can sprinkle finely chopped red chili pepper, onion, or scallion over the sauce for added flavor and texture.
Step 10
Carefully place the sauce-coated bread slices into the air fryer basket, ensuring they don’t overlap.
Step 11
Now, it’s time for the first round of cooking. Set the air fryer temperature to 180°C (356°F).
Step 12
For the first cooking phase, set the timer for 4 to 5 minutes.
Step 13
The cooking time can vary depending on the thickness of your bread and your specific air fryer model. Open the air fryer basket midway to check the color of the garlic bread and ensure it’s not burning. Cook until it reaches your desired level of crispiness.
Step 14
After the first cooking time is up, carefully flip the garlic bread slices over. It’s now time to toast the other side.
Step 15
For the second round of cooking, maintain the temperature at 180°C (356°F) and set the timer for a shorter duration, about 1 to 2 minutes.
Step 16
After about 1 minute of cooking, open the air fryer basket and check if the bottom side of the garlic bread has turned a nice golden brown.
Step 17
Once the bottom is nicely browned, flip it one more time to check the top side. If the top is also golden brown and looks appetizing, transfer the finished garlic bread to a plate. Congratulations, your crispy and soft air fryer garlic bread is ready! It’s best enjoyed warm.
