Crispy and Delicious Seasoned Pickled Radish
Super Simple & Delicious Seasoned Pickled Radish Recipe
I make this often at home, and it’s even featured in Chef Baek Jong-won’s recipes! Introducing a super simple side dish: seasoned pickled radish!
Main Ingredients
- Crispy pickled radish 200g
- Green onion 1 Tbsp (finely chopped)
- Toasted sesame seeds 1 Tbsp
Seasoning
- Sesame oil 1 Tbsp
- Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes) 0.5 Tbsp (adjust to taste)
- Minced garlic 1 Tbsp
- Sesame oil 1 Tbsp
- Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes) 0.5 Tbsp (adjust to taste)
- Minced garlic 1 Tbsp
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
I’m using ‘kkodeul’ pickled radish because I love its chewy texture. I have 200g, and I’ve pressed it firmly with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This step is crucial for achieving a delightful crispiness.
Step 2
Now, let’s add the seasoning to the drained pickled radish. First, add 0.5 Tbsp of gochugaru for a touch of spiciness. Feel free to add more if you prefer it spicier.
Step 3
Next, add 1 Tbsp of sesame oil for a rich, nutty aroma. Sesame oil is a key ingredient that elevates the flavor of this seasoned radish dish.
Step 4
For an extra layer of savory depth, add 1 Tbsp of minced garlic. Minced garlic helps distribute the seasonings evenly and enhances the overall flavor profile.
Step 5
Finally, add 1 Tbsp of finely chopped green onion for freshness and texture. Gently mix everything together with your hands, ensuring the seasoning coats the pickled radish evenly. A thorough mix is recommended for the best flavor integration.
Step 6
And there you have it – a super simple seasoned pickled radish that’s perfect with rice! Its satisfying crunch and balanced sweet and savory taste make it an excellent side dish. It’s so delicious, I sometimes enjoy it as a snack with drinks too! Give it a try.
