Cooking Instructions

Step 1

[Making Tarakjuk] First, prepare 40g of rice that has been soaked in water. Using a blender or a mortar and pestle, crush or grind the soaked rice until it’s about 1/3 of its original size. This will result in a smoother porridge, perfect for your baby to eat.

Step 2

Dissolve 20g of infant formula in 300ml of warm water until completely smooth, with no clumps. If using cow’s milk instead of formula, ensure it is boiled and then cooled before use.

Step 3

In a pot, combine the crushed rice and the dissolved formula mixture. Begin boiling over high heat. It’s advisable to stir occasionally at the beginning to prevent sticking.

Step 4

Once the porridge comes to a rolling boil, reduce the heat to medium-low. Continue to simmer and stir until the rice grains are well broken down and the porridge reaches your desired consistency. Your creamy Tarakjuk is now ready!

Step 5

[Making Basic Rice Porridge] Similar to Tarakjuk, start with 40g of pre-soaked rice. Use a blender or mortar and pestle to crush the rice grains to about 1/3 of their size. If you prefer a porridge with a bit more texture, you don’t need to grind it too finely.

Step 6

Place the crushed rice and 300ml of water into a pot. Bring to a boil over high heat. Stirring well, especially in the initial stages, is crucial to prevent the rice from sticking to the bottom.

Step 7

Once the porridge begins to boil, reduce the heat to medium-low. Cook until the rice grains are soft and have broken down, reaching the desired thickness. Adjust the consistency according to your baby’s ability to digest.

Step 8

[Making Sweet Rice Porridge] Prepare 40g of soaked sweet rice. Sweet rice tends to be stickier than regular rice, so crushing or grinding it to about 1/3 size using a blender or mortar and pestle will make it smoother and easier for your baby to eat.

Step 9

Combine the crushed sweet rice and 300ml of water in a pot. Start boiling over high heat. Sweet rice can stick easily, so it’s best to stir continuously until it begins to boil.

Step 10

When the porridge comes to a boil, reduce the heat to medium-low. Let it simmer gently, stirring occasionally, until the sweet rice grains are fully softened and the porridge is creamy. Your delicious sweet rice porridge is complete! Adjust the thickness based on your baby’s needs.
