Main Ingredients
- 1 bag glutinous rice flour (amount may vary by product, refer to packaging)
- 1/2 mal of pre-made mochi (approx. 20-25 pieces, use store-bought or homemade mochi)
- 1 fresh strawberry
- 1 peeled tangerine
- 1 ripe banana
- 1 can of condensed milk (adjust to taste)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the mochi dough. Sprinkle a thin layer of glutinous rice flour on a clean, flat surface like a table or cutting board. This prevents the mochi from sticking and helps it get an even coating of rice flour when rolled. Cut the prepared mochi into manageable pieces. Roll each piece on the sprinkled rice flour, coating both sides evenly. It’s best to cut them into bite-sized portions, suitable for a child’s snack.
Step 2
Prepare the fruits and wrap them with the mochi. Hull and slice the strawberries in half or quarters. Peel the tangerine and separate the segments. Slice the banana into 1-1.5 cm thick rounds. Lightly coat each piece of prepared fruit with condensed milk. Then, flatten a piece of the rice-flour-coated mochi, place the condensed milk-coated fruit in the center, and carefully wrap the mochi around it, sealing the edges. Feel free to use other fruits you like (e.g., kiwi, blueberries, mango) and seasonal fruits to create a variety of flavors.
Step 3
Slice the finished mochi into serving sizes for a beautiful presentation. Use a clean knife to cut each fruit-filled mochi in half. This reveals the colorful fruit and creamy condensed milk filling inside, making it even more appealing. Arrange the beautifully completed, colorful fruit condensed milk mochi on a plate. It’s a delightful snack that will bring joy to your children’s eyes and taste buds. They are delicious immediately or can be chilled in the refrigerator for a chewier texture.
