Ingredients
  • 10 cherry tomatoes
  • Hot water (boiled)
  • Honey (to taste)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, remove the stems from the fresh cherry tomatoes and wash them thoroughly. Then, make a shallow cross-shaped incision at the bottom of each tomato. I thought this might be difficult, but it was surprisingly easy!

Step 2

Now, we’ll peel the cherry tomatoes. After making the cross-shaped cuts, we need to blanch them. For a simpler method, we’ll use hot water from an electric kettle. Let’s prepare it this way.

Step 3

Boil water in your electric kettle. Once it’s boiling, carefully pour the hot water over the cherry tomatoes that have the cross-shaped cuts. You might hear a gentle pouring sound as the water covers the tomatoes.

Step 4

Let the tomatoes sit in the hot water for about 30 seconds. You’ll be amazed at how easily the skins slip off, especially where the cross-shaped cuts were made. Rinsing them briefly in cold water will help further.

Step 5

Once all the skins are removed, drain the cherry tomatoes well. Place them into an airtight container. Now, pour in the honey. You don’t need to completely submerge the tomatoes; a generous drizzle that coats them well is perfect. Adjust the amount of honey based on the sweetness of your tomatoes and your preference.

Step 6

Close the lid tightly on the honey-coated cherry tomatoes and refrigerate. Let them chill for at least 5 hours. This allows the honey to permeate the tomatoes, making them wonderfully flavorful.

Step 7

Become delicious, ‘shazam’!

Step 8

Since my husband was due home, I took them out after about 10 hours. Due to osmosis, the container had a good amount of honey liquid at the bottom. When I scooped some up with a spoon, it had thickened into a delightful, sticky syrup. It looked incredibly appetizing.

Step 9

These perfectly prepared honey-glazed cherry tomatoes are an ideal dessert after a meal! After eating something spicy like kimchi jjigae, don’t you often crave something like this? The chewy texture and deep sweetness will refresh your palate. Enjoy your delicious treat! ♥
