The combination of mushrooms with olive oil and minced garlic is always a winner! When you’re out of side dishes or just don’t feel like cooking much, a simple stir-fry of chewy king oyster mushrooms can be prepared in no time. They make for a satisfying and quick addition to any meal!
Ingredients
- 2 King Oyster Mushrooms (approx. 200g)
- 1 Tbsp Olive Oil
- 1/2 tsp Minced Garlic
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 1/2 Tbsp Water
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the 2 King Oyster Mushrooms (about 200g total) by cleaning them. Then, slice them into bite-sized pieces according to your preference. Typically, slicing them into 0.5cm thick half-moons or 1cm long strips offers a pleasant texture when cooked.
Step 2
Heat a frying pan over medium-low heat and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, spreading it evenly. Gently tilt the pan to ensure the olive oil coats the entire surface.
Step 3
Once the pan is warm enough, add the sliced King Oyster Mushrooms and 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic. Stir-fry over medium-low heat for about 2-3 minutes, until the mushrooms become slightly golden and the fragrant aroma of the garlic is released. The key is to stir-fry until the mushrooms release their moisture and become tender in the pan.
Step 4
When the mushrooms are somewhat cooked, add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and 1/2 tablespoon of water to the pan. Adjust the seasoning with salt, and adding a little water will help the mushrooms become even softer and absorb the flavors better.
