Ingredients
- 1/2 head of cabbage, shredded
- 1/4 carrot, finely diced
- 1/2 onion, thinly sliced
- 4 cubes of solid curry roux
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Heat 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil in a wide pot. Add the sliced onions.
Step 2
Sauté the onions over low heat until they turn translucent and release a subtle sweetness. Continue stirring for about 5-7 minutes. Sautéing the onions well will deepen the curry’s flavor.
Step 3
Once the onions are nicely sautéed, add the shredded cabbage and diced carrots to the pot. Stir-fry together for about 2-3 minutes until the cabbage softens slightly.
Step 4
When the vegetables are sufficiently stir-fried, pour in the amount of water indicated on the curry roux package (typically about 180-200ml per cube). Once the water boils, add the 4 cubes of solid curry roux and stir well to dissolve.
Step 5
Reduce the heat to medium-low and continue to stir constantly to prevent sticking to the bottom. Simmer for about 5-10 minutes, or until the curry reaches your desired consistency. Your delicious cabbage curry is now ready to be served over rice!
