Ingredients
  • 1 liter water
  • 6 ears of corn
  • 2 tablespoons coarse salt
  • 2 tablespoons sugar (granulated or New Sugar)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the corn by removing the tough outer husks and all the silk. Leave only about 2-3 of the inner husks attached to the cob. This helps to retain the corn’s natural flavor and sweetness.

Step 2

In a pressure cooker, create a bed of the removed corn silk at the bottom. This acts as a cushion and adds subtle flavor. Layer the prepared corn cobs and their remaining inner husks on top of the silk.

Step 3

Pour 1 liter of water into the pressure cooker. Dissolve 2 tablespoons of coarse salt and 2 tablespoons of sugar completely in the water. This seasoned liquid is key to making the corn perfectly tender and sweet.

Step 4

Securely close the lid of the pressure cooker and place it over high heat. Once the pressure indicator starts to whistle (usually after 10-15 minutes), reduce the heat to medium-low and let it steam for about 10 minutes. This ensures the corn cooks through evenly.

Step 5

Once the pressure has completely released (indicated by the pressure valve lowering), carefully open the lid. Flip the corn cobs over so they are submerged in the liquid. Close the lid again and simmer for another 10 minutes on medium-low heat. This final step guarantees chewy kernels and a sweet, satisfying flavor. Enjoy immediately while warm for the best experience!
