Main Ingredients
  • 300g Salted Seagrass (Kkoshiraegi)
  • 300g Salted Seaweed Strips (Dasima)

Seasoning
  • 1.5 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1.5 Tbsp Vinegar
  • 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 1/2 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • 1/2 Tbsp Plum Extract (Maesil Extract)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, soak the salted seagrass and seaweed strips in plenty of cold water to remove excess salt. It’s best to soak them for about 30 minutes, changing the water twice in between to ensure a clean taste.

Step 2

Seagrass is sometimes called ‘sea noodles’ due to its long, thin strands! Seaweed is also known for being rich in dietary fiber, which aids in preventing constipation. Its alginate content helps block fat absorption, making it a great food for dieting. After soaking the sea vegetables for 30 minutes, rinse them thoroughly under running water, drain well, and cut them into bite-sized pieces (about 4-6 inches long).

Step 3

In a large bowl, combine the prepared seagrass and seaweed strips. Add all the seasoning ingredients: Gochujang (1.5 Tbsp), vinegar (1.5 Tbsp), minced garlic (1/2 Tbsp), toasted sesame seeds (1/2 Tbsp), and plum extract (1/2 Tbsp). Gently mix everything together with your hands, ensuring the seasoning coats the sea vegetables evenly. Be careful not to mix too vigorously, as this can break down the sea vegetables.

Step 4

Your tangy, chewy, and delicious seaweed and seagrass salad is ready! It tastes great right away, or you can chill it in the refrigerator for an even more refreshing experience. Enjoy!
