- 2 small cans of spicy chili tuna
- 1 small can of regular tuna
- A little bit of green onion (finely chopped)
Seasoning & Others
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp allulose or sugar (adjust sweetness to taste)
- A pinch of black pepper
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- A pinch of sesame seeds
- 1 tsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp allulose or sugar (adjust sweetness to taste)
- A pinch of black pepper
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- A pinch of sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
This recipe is perfect for when your kimchi has become too sour to enjoy on its own. Place the kimchi, cut into manageable pieces, into a pot or pan. If the pieces are too long, cut them in half for easier stir-frying.
Step 2
Add two small cans of spicy chili tuna, including the liquid, to help cut through the sourness of the kimchi and add a flavorful punch.
Step 3
Include one small can of regular tuna, along with its oil. Using the tuna oil eliminates the need for extra cooking oil, making the dish more convenient and delicious. Stir-fry everything together quickly over high heat until well combined.
Step 4
To enhance the savory flavor and adjust the seasoning, add 1 tablespoon of tuna extract (or soy sauce as a substitute if unavailable) and allulose. You can adjust the sweetness according to your preference. Stir-fry over high heat for about 5-7 minutes, allowing the kimchi to soften and absorb the flavors. Be sure to stir frequently to prevent burning.
Step 5
Finally, add the finely chopped green onions for freshness, and drizzle with sesame oil and sesame seeds for a nutty aroma. Turn off the heat and gently mix everything together. Your delicious Spicy Tuna Kimchi Stir-fry is ready!
Step 6
Even picky eaters who might shy away from sour kimchi will enjoy this dish when it’s stir-fried with savory and spicy-sweet tuna. It’s a perfect side dish for rice or a simple accompaniment to drinks.
