Hot Wings Ingredients
  • 20 chicken wings
  • Pinch of black pepper
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 Tbsp lemon juice
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 3 Tbsp Sriracha sauce
  • 3 Tbsp honey
  • About 1/3 Tbsp butter

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare about 20 chicken wings, the star of our hot wings. Rinse them thoroughly under running cold water to remove any impurities. Gently pat them dry with paper towels for best results.

Step 2

Heat a pan over medium heat with a little cooking oil. Add the prepared chicken wings and sear them until they turn a lovely golden brown on both sides. Lightly season them with a pinch of pepper and salt as they cook to enhance their flavor.

Step 3

Let’s make the spicy and sweet sauce that will define our hot wings! In a bowl, combine 2 Tbsp of lemon juice, 3 Tbsp of soy sauce, 3 Tbsp of Sriracha sauce, and 3 Tbsp of honey. Whisk them together until well combined to create a sauce that’s tangy, sweet, and delightfully spicy.

Step 4

Push the browned chicken wings to one side of the pan. This helps to keep them from burning while the sauce simmers, ensuring they stay moist and tender.

Step 5

Now, pour the pre-made Sriracha sauce into the pan. Ideally, the sauce should generously coat the bottom of the pan and partially cover the chicken wings.

Step 6

Once the sauce begins to bubble and simmer, add about 1/3 Tbsp of butter. The melting butter will add a smooth richness and a subtle savory note to the sauce.

Step 7

When the sauce is vigorously boiling, add the seared chicken wings back into the sauce. Gently toss and coat each wing evenly with the sauce over medium-low heat, allowing it to thicken slightly.

Step 8

Turn off the heat once the sauce has fully coated the wings and they have achieved a beautiful, appetizing color. Be careful not to overcook, as this can make the wings dry. Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!
