Ingredients
  • 2 bowls of cooked rice
  • 100g tuna (drained)
  • 1 handful of kimchi (chopped)
  • 2 green chili peppers
  • 2 slices of cheddar cheese
  • 1 Tbsp sugar
  • 1 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • A pinch of salt

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, finely mince the 2 green chili peppers. Remove the stems and seeds before mincing. Mincing them finely will ensure their refreshing, spicy flavor is evenly distributed throughout the rice balls.

Step 2

Next, finely chop the kimchi. It’s best to remove some of the excess filling from the kimchi if it’s too moist, and then chop it into small, bite-sized pieces for better integration with the rice.

Step 3

Drain the 100g of tuna thoroughly to remove excess oil. In a bowl, combine the drained tuna, chopped kimchi, 1 Tbsp sugar, and 1 Tbsp mayonnaise. Mix everything well with a spatula or spoon until you have a flavorful tuna-kimchi filling.

Step 4

In a large bowl, place the 2 bowls of cooked rice. Season the rice with 1 Tbsp sesame oil and a pinch of salt for a subtle base flavor. Add the 2 slices of cheddar cheese, torn or cut into smaller pieces, and the minced green chili peppers. Gently mix the ingredients using a spatula, taking care not to mash the rice grains. Continue mixing until the cheese begins to melt and all ingredients are well combined.

Step 5

Once the rice mixture is ready, take a portion of it onto your palm and flatten it into a disc. Place a spoonful of the tuna-kimchi filling in the center. Then, carefully wrap the rice around the filling and shape it into a round ball. Repeat this process until all the mixture is used. Your delicious green pepper and cheese rice balls are now ready to be enjoyed!
