  • Pancake mix (buchim garu) 100g
  • Eggs 4
  • Salt 1/4 tsp
  • Water 150ml

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, gather the ingredients for these delicious scallion pancakes. You only need scallions, pancake mix, and eggs – very simple!

Step 2

Wash the scallions thoroughly and pat them dry as much as possible. Then, thinly slice them into fine strips. The fresh aroma of the scallions will enhance the pancake’s flavor.

Step 3

In a large bowl, crack 4 eggs. Add 1/4 tsp of salt and 150ml of water. Whisk everything together until well combined using a whisk.

Step 4

Sift 100g of pancake mix into the egg mixture. It’s important not to add all the pancake mix at once; add it in two or three batches while whisking to prevent lumps from forming.

Step 5

Whisk gently until the batter is smooth and lump-free. A smooth batter ensures your pancakes turn out extra tender.

Step 6

Once the batter is completely smooth with no lumps, add the sliced scallions last and mix them in gently. Ensure the scallions are evenly distributed throughout the batter.

Step 7

Lightly grease a non-stick pan and preheat it over medium-low heat. High heat can burn the pancakes, so controlling the temperature is key. Cook the pancakes thinly, similar to making crepes or thin omelets.

Step 8

Cook each side over medium-low heat for about 1 minute 30 seconds to 2 minutes. After flipping the pancake, cover it with a lid for a short while; this helps cook the inside evenly and keeps it moist.

Step 9

Once both sides are golden brown, your delicious scallion pancakes are ready! They look as good as they taste, with a beautiful golden hue that’s sure to make your mouth water.

Step 10

This recipe yields about 5 to 6 pancakes. This is a good amount for one person or for sharing with a few others.

Step 11

You can enjoy the pancakes as they are, or for a more decorative presentation, try rolling them up and arranging them nicely on a plate. This adds a visual appeal to your meal.

Step 12

Rolling the pancakes is simple: first, fold both sides towards the center, and then roll them up two or three times to create a neat spiral shape.

Step 13

To show you how soft they are, I’ve torn one open by hand. They are incredibly soft and tender, practically melting in your mouth!

Step 14

A satisfying meal that’s easy to make without any special ingredients – scallion pancakes! Enjoying these as a brunch option was wonderfully filling and satisfying. You should definitely give them a try!
