Simple and Savory Seaweed Soup
Quick & Easy Seaweed Soup Recipe
Wondering what to make with seaweed? Seaweed soup popped into my mind! So today, we’re making seaweed soup! ♡
Ingredients
- Generous amount of dried seaweed (about 2-3 sheets)
- 1 Korean chili pepper
- 300ml water (approx. 1.5 cups)
- 1/2 green onion (mostly the white part)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Begin by pouring 300ml of water into a pot and bringing it to a boil over high heat. While the water is heating up, prepare the other ingredients.
Step 2
Tear the seaweed into bite-sized pieces by hand. If you tear it too finely, the soup might become cloudy. Tearing it into pieces about 2-3 cm is recommended. Using roasted seaweed will add a nuttier flavor.
Step 3
Once the water starts boiling, add the torn seaweed and let it simmer. The seaweed will soften and impart a savory depth to the broth. In the meantime, finely chop the green onion and thinly slice the Korean chili pepper after removing its seeds.
Step 4
After adding the seaweed and letting it simmer for a moment, add the prepared green onion and Korean chili pepper. If you prefer a spicier kick, adjust the amount of chili pepper or omit it altogether. Continue to boil for another 1-2 minutes after adding all ingredients, then turn off the heat. Serve hot in bowls for a delicious seaweed soup. Enjoy with a bowl of rice!
