Ingredients
- 2 ripe figs
- 1/3 tomato
- 80g iceberg lettuce
- 5 leaves of romaine lettuce
Dressing
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice or lemon syrup
- 2 Tbsp lemon slices from lemon syrup
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1/2 Tbsp vinegar
- 1 black olive, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice or lemon syrup
- 2 Tbsp lemon slices from lemon syrup
- 1 Tbsp honey
- 1/2 Tbsp vinegar
- 1 black olive, finely chopped
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare the vegetables and fruits. Cut them into appropriate sizes, ensuring they are no thicker than 1.5 cm to maintain a pleasant texture. For the figs, briefly blanch them in hot water. Turn off the heat and let them sit for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, just until they become slightly soft. This process enhances their sweetness and softens their texture.
Step 2
Let’s make the Honey Oil Dressing! In a bowl, combine 1 Tbsp of olive oil, 1 Tbsp of lemon juice (or lemon syrup), 1 Tbsp of honey, and 1/2 Tbsp of vinegar. Add 1 finely chopped black olive, 1/2 tsp of salt, and 1/2 tsp of black pepper. Whisk everything together until well combined and emulsified. The lemon slices from the lemon syrup (about 2 Tbsp) add a lovely extra zest.
Step 3
Arrange the prepared salad ingredients on a serving plate. Gently place the lettuce, chopped tomato, and the blanched figs onto the plate, arranging them attractively.
Step 4
Just before serving, drizzle the Honey Oil Dressing evenly over the salad. Make sure to coat the figs generously for the best flavor experience.
Step 5
This fig salad is perfect for outdoor picnics or as a light meal. If packing for a picnic, it’s best to keep the dressing separate in a small container to prevent the greens from becoming soggy. Simply toss right before eating to enjoy the fresh flavors!
