  • 3 strips bacon (approx. 150g)
  • 3 king oyster mushrooms (medium-sized)
  • 1/3 stalk green onion

Seasonings
  • 0.5 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp minced garlic
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper to taste

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare your ingredients. Cut the bacon into 2cm pieces. Trim the ends of the king oyster mushrooms, then slice them into bite-sized pieces (about 1cm thick, or cut in half lengthwise). Finely chop the green onion. Having your ingredients prepped beforehand makes the cooking process much smoother.

Step 2

Heat 0.5 Tbsp of olive oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Add 1 Tbsp of minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, being careful not to burn it. The gentle aroma of the garlic is the start of a delicious stir-fry.

Step 3

Once the garlic is fragrant, add the cut bacon to the pan and cook until it’s nicely browned. The bacon will release its own fat, adding more flavor. Once the bacon is partially cooked, you can push it to the side of the pan or briefly remove it to a separate dish.

Step 4

Now, add the sliced king oyster mushrooms and green onion to the pan with the bacon. Stir-fry everything together until well combined. Continue to cook until the king oyster mushrooms soften and start to turn golden brown. The mushrooms will absorb the flavors and become even tastier.

Finally, taste and adjust the seasoning. Since bacon is already salty, you might only need a tiny pinch of salt, or you can even omit it. Add a pinch of ground black pepper according to your preference to enhance the flavor. Stir everything together one last time to ensure all ingredients are well integrated. This is the finishing touch.
