Key Ingredients
  • 1 pack mushrooms (shiitake or any mushrooms you have on hand)
  • 2 drizzles of baby-friendly sesame oil (adjust based on mushroom quantity)
  • 2 tsp baby-friendly soy sauce (adjust to baby’s taste)
  • 1 tsp baby-friendly salt (adjust to baby’s taste)
  • Generous amount of sesame seeds

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Prepare the mushrooms by slicing them into bite-sized pieces that are easy for your baby to eat. Using pre-sliced shiitake mushrooms can make this process even quicker and more convenient. Cut them into appropriately small pieces, with a mother’s loving touch, ensuring they’re perfect for your little one.

Step 2

Heat a pan over medium heat and add 2-3 drizzles of baby-friendly brown rice oil. Add the prepared mushrooms and let them sauté, as if dancing in the pan.

Step 3

Sauté the mushrooms for about 2-3 minutes until they soften slightly and begin to wilt. This is the start of a delicious dish!

Step 4

Now, it’s time to add flavor! Drizzle in about two rounds of baby-friendly sesame oil. The subtle aroma of sesame oil will stimulate your baby’s appetite.

Step 5

Consider your baby’s palate and add about 2 teaspoons of baby-friendly soy sauce. Continue to sauté over medium heat, ensuring it doesn’t burn, allowing the flavors to meld. (The amount can vary based on your baby’s preference, so adjust accordingly.)

Step 6

My baby prefers a bit more flavor, so I added a little extra soy sauce. As the soy sauce is absorbed into the mushrooms, their delicious aroma intensifies. You’ll notice that the mushrooms, which initially soaked up the oil, will start to release their own moisture along with some oil, creating a beautifully sautéed texture.

Step 7

Once the mushrooms are cooked through and have absorbed the seasoning, add a generous amount of sesame seeds and stir-fry vigorously. The nutty flavor of the sesame seeds will elevate the taste of the mushroom dish.

Step 8

After tasting, I felt it was a bit bland, so I added a tiny pinch of baby-friendly salt. A very small amount can balance the flavors perfectly.

Step 9

Finally, for an even nuttier flavor and a more satisfying texture, sprinkle generously with ground sesame seeds. Your baby will absolutely love it!

Step 10

Voila! The delicious baby sautéed mushrooms are ready. The aroma is wonderful, and the savory, nutty flavor is so good that even I, the mom, find it delicious! I highly recommend this as a baby side dish!
