Ingredients
  • 2-3 handfuls of oyster mushrooms (about 200-300g)
  • 1-2 cloves garlic, thinly sliced
  • 1 Tbsp cooking oil (or sesame oil)
  • 0.5 Tbsp oyster sauce
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • Salt to taste (optional)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the oyster mushrooms. Trim off the tough base and then gently tear the mushrooms into bite-sized pieces by hand. Tearing them allows the sauce to penetrate better and results in a more tender texture. Thinly slice the garlic.

Step 2

Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a pan over low heat. Add the sliced garlic and stir-fry until fragrant and lightly golden. Be careful not to burn the garlic; gently cooking it infuses the oil with a wonderful aroma, enhancing the overall flavor of the mushroom dish.

Step 3

Once the garlic is golden and aromatic, add the prepared oyster mushrooms to the pan.

Step 4

Pour the 0.5 tablespoon of oyster sauce over the mushrooms. Turn the heat up to high and stir-fry quickly until the mushrooms are just wilted. Stir-frying on high heat for a short time prevents the mushrooms from releasing too much moisture and helps maintain a pleasant, slightly firm texture.

Step 5

When the mushrooms have softened and are well coated with the sauce, turn off the heat. Finish with a sprinkle of black pepper to your liking for an extra touch of aroma. If needed, you can add a tiny pinch of salt to adjust the seasoning. Your delicious stir-fried oyster mushrooms are ready!
