Ingredients
- King Oyster Mushrooms 200g
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare 200g of fresh and clean king oyster mushrooms. Gently rinse the mushrooms under running water to remove any dirt or debris. Be careful not to wash them for too long, as this can reduce their flavor.
Step 2
Place the washed king oyster mushrooms in a steamer basket. If you don’t have a steamer, you can place a steaming rack in a pot with a small amount of water and arrange the mushrooms on top.
Step 3
Steam the mushrooms for about 7 minutes until they are tender. It’s important to steam them thoroughly. After steaming, let them cool down for a bit to allow the steam to dissipate.
Step 4
Transfer the steamed king oyster mushrooms to a blender. The key here is to blend them to a texture that your baby can handle. Aim for a slightly chunky texture so they can practice chewing, rather than a completely smooth purée. If your baby is just starting late-stage baby food, you can blend it a bit smoother.
Step 5
Portion the blended king oyster mushroom baby food into 15g baby food cubes. Freezing them in portions allows you to serve fresh baby food anytime. To serve frozen baby food, transfer the cubes to the refrigerator the night before to thaw slowly. Once thawed, gently warm the baby food using a microwave or a double boiler before feeding it to your baby. If the baby food seems too thick, you can adjust the consistency by adding a little bit of baby-safe broth or plain water.
