Ingredients
  • 12 passion fruits
  • 1 Tbsp honey
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 50 cc milk
  • 100 cc heavy cream

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, I bought a pack of 12 frozen passion fruits for 3500 won – a great deal!^^ Letting them thaw at room temperature for about 30 minutes makes them much easier to cut in half.

Step 2

Scoop out the pulp and seeds from each passion fruit half and place them into your blender. Make sure to get all the delicious insides.

Step 3

Now, let’s add some sweetness. Add 1 tablespoon of honey. If you prefer a sweeter ice cream, feel free to adjust the amount of honey to your liking.

Step 4

Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice to enhance the bright, tropical flavor. While optional, it truly elevates the taste.

Step 5

Finally, add a pinch of salt. This little bit of salt balances the sweetness and brings out the full flavor profile of the passion fruit.

Step 6

Pour in 50 cc of milk and 100 cc of heavy cream for a creamy texture. (If you don’t have heavy cream, you can skip this part.) Using heavy cream will result in a richer, more luxurious ice cream.

Step 7

Secure the lid on your blender and blend until smooth. You can aim for a slightly textured consistency to enjoy the passion fruit seeds.

Step 8

Pour the blended passion fruit mixture into a freezer-safe container. Smooth out the top surface.

Step 9

Now it’s time to freeze! Every 2 hours, take the container out of the freezer and scrape the mixture with a fork or spoon. Break up any ice crystals and mix them back in. Repeat this process about 3 times. This will help create a smoother, more enjoyable ice cream texture without large ice chunks.^^
