  • 2.5 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp plum extract (or syrup)
  • 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 Tbsp finely chopped green onion
  • 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic
  • 1/2 Tbsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a hint of spice)
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare all your ingredients. Have the tofu and all the sauce ingredients ready and within reach. Finely chopping the green onion will enhance the flavor of the sauce.

Step 2

Slice the tofu into bite-sized pieces, about 1.5 to 2 cm thick. Place the sliced tofu on paper towels and gently pat dry to remove excess moisture. This step is crucial for achieving a crispy texture and preventing oil splatters. Lightly season the tofu with a pinch of salt.

Step 3

Finely mince about 2 tablespoons of green onion. This will add a wonderful fresh aroma to the sauce. Also, have your minced garlic ready.

In a small bowl, combine all the sauce ingredients: 2.5 Tbsp soy sauce, 1 Tbsp plum extract, 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil, 2 Tbsp finely chopped green onion, 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic, and 1/2 Tbsp red pepper flakes (if using). Add a sprinkle of sesame seeds. Mix well until everything is thoroughly combined. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.

Heat a generous amount of vegetable oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Be careful not to overheat the oil, as this can cause the tofu to burn.
