Main Ingredients
  • 2 bowls of cooked rice
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 large eggs

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, crack the 2 eggs into a bowl. Whisk them well with a fork or whisk until the whites and yolks are fully combined. You can add a tiny pinch of salt and pepper to the eggs to help eliminate any eggy smell.

Step 2

Peel the garlic cloves and slice them thinly into rounds or mince them finely, depending on your preference. Heat 1 tablespoon of cooking oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Add the sliced or minced garlic and sauté gently until it turns a light golden brown and releases its fragrant aroma. Be careful not to burn the garlic, as this will make it bitter.

Step 3

Once the garlic is fragrant and nicely browned, pour the whisked eggs into the pan, letting them spread around the garlic. As the eggs begin to set, add the 2 bowls of cooked rice. Use your spatula to break up any clumps of rice and stir-fry everything together quickly, ensuring the rice, eggs, and garlic are well combined. It’s important to keep the rice from clumping.

Step 4

When the rice and eggs are somewhat incorporated, it’s time to season. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/2 teaspoon of black pepper, and 1 tablespoon of soy sauce. Pour the soy sauce around the edges of the pan; it will sizzle and caramelize slightly, adding more depth of flavor. Stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until all the ingredients are well mixed and heated through.

Step 5

Transfer the delicious garlic egg fried rice to a serving plate. For a final touch, sprinkle a pinch of dried parsley over the top. This not only enhances the visual appeal but also adds a subtle herbaceous note. Serve immediately while hot for the best taste!
