Loved by the whole family, this fluffy egg roll is not only delicious but also packed with nutrition, making it perfect for kids’ meals or as a savory snack! We’ll guide you through making it even tastier with a few simple tips.
Basic Ingredients
- 3 fresh eggs
- 1/3 stalk green onion (mainly the white part)
Seasoning for Flavor
- 1 pinch of fine salt (approx. 1g)
- 1 teaspoon sugar (approx. 5g)
- 1 pinch of fine salt (approx. 1g)
- 1 teaspoon sugar (approx. 5g)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients needed to make a delicious egg roll. You’ll need fresh eggs, zesty green onions, and basic seasonings.
Step 2
Wash the green onion thoroughly and prepare the white part. First, finely chop it into small pieces, then mince it even further to a fine dice. This ensures the green onion is evenly distributed in the egg mixture and improves the texture.
Step 3
Crack the 3 eggs into a large bowl. Add 1 pinch of fine salt for balanced flavor and 1 teaspoon of sugar for a touch of sweetness.
Step 4
Using chopsticks or a whisk, gently beat the eggs until the salt and sugar are fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth and homogenous. It’s important to beat the eggs well so the yolks and whites are thoroughly combined. Avoid over-whisking, which can create too much foam.
Step 5
Heat 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a non-stick pan over medium-low heat. Lightly spread the oil by wiping the pan with a paper towel to coat it. Pour the egg mixture into the pan, spreading it thinly. Once the edges begin to set and the top is about halfway cooked, use a spatula or chopsticks to gently fold the egg from the bottom towards the top.
Step 6
Gently slide the folded egg to the side of the pan. Pour a small amount of the remaining egg mixture into the empty space. As this new layer starts to cook, fold the previously folded egg over it again. Continue this process, adding a little egg mixture at a time and folding, to create a thick and beautiful egg roll.
Step 7
Don’t worry if the shape isn’t perfect at first! By continuing to add egg mixture and fold, the roll will naturally take on a more defined shape towards the end. Keep an eye on the heat to ensure the outside is golden brown without burning.
Step 8
To prevent the egg roll from falling apart when slicing, it’s best to let it cool slightly. You can also shape it tightly by rolling it in a bamboo mat or parchment paper. Allowing it to cool will make it easier to cut cleanly.
Step 9
Once the egg roll has cooled to a manageable temperature, slice it into your desired thickness and arrange it beautifully on a plate. Your delicious egg roll, with its appealing color and tender texture, is now complete!
