Main Ingredients

- 2 large eggs
Seasoning & Others
- Generous amount of cooking oil (canola oil, grapeseed oil, etc.)
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
- Generous amount of cooking oil (canola oil, grapeseed oil, etc.)
- Pinch of salt
- Pinch of black pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Gently pat the tofu dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This is crucial to prevent splattering oil and to ensure the tofu doesn’t break apart during cooking. Slice the tofu into bite-sized pieces, about 1.5 to 2 cm thick.
Step 2
In a wide bowl, whisk the 2 eggs. Add a pinch of salt and a dash of black pepper, and beat well. Lightly seasoning the egg wash will help balance the natural mildness of the tofu.
Step 3
Dip each tofu slice into the beaten egg mixture, ensuring it’s coated evenly on all sides. Make sure the egg coating is substantial enough to adhere well to the tofu surface; a thin coating might peel off easily.
Step 4
Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is shimmering, carefully place the egg-coated tofu slices into the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes until the bottom side turns a beautiful golden brown. Flip the tofu gently and cook the other side until equally golden. Avoid overcrowding the pan and try not to flip the tofu too frequently to prevent it from breaking.
