Ingredients
  • Jinjjamppong (instant noodle brand) 2 packs
  • Cheddar cheese slices 2 slices
  • Shrimp, peeled and deveined 5-6 pcs
  • Milk 400ml
  • Water 200ml
  • Garlic cloves 3
  • Button mushrooms 3-4
  • Onion 1/2
  • Cooking oil
  • Cheongyang chili pepper (optional, for extra spice)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Begin by heating a large pan or pot over medium heat. Add a small amount of cooking oil. Once the pan is warm, add the thinly sliced half onion and the thinly sliced garlic cloves (about 3 cloves). Sauté until the aromatics are fragrant and the onion becomes translucent. Be careful not to burn the garlic.

Step 2

When the onion and garlic are softened, add the dried vegetable flakes from both Jinjjamppong packets. Stir and sauté for a moment to release their flavors. Add the thinly sliced button mushrooms (3-4) and cook until they are slightly tender.

Step 3

Pour in the milk (400ml) and water (200ml) to create the creamy base. Add one of the liquid soup bases from the Jinjjamppong packet to season the broth. Stir everything together well.

Step 4

Bring the mixture to a gentle boil. Carefully add the two ramyeon noodle packs and gently loosen them with chopsticks as they cook. Once the noodles start to soften, add the thawed shrimp (5-6 pieces). Cook until the shrimp turns pink and is cooked through; this should only take a few minutes.

Step 5

For those who enjoy a bit of heat, this is the time to add finely chopped Cheongyang chili pepper (1 piece). This ingredient is optional and can be adjusted to your spice preference.

Step 6

When the noodles are cooked to your liking and the shrimp is fully cooked, reduce the heat to low. Add the two slices of cheddar cheese and stir until they are melted and incorporated into the sauce, creating a rich, creamy texture. Finally, stir in the oil-based flavor packet that came with the Jinjjamppong. Mix everything well, and your delicious Creamy Jjambbong is ready to be served immediately. Enjoy this unique fusion dish!
