Super Simple Wasabi Radish Salad Recipe

Let’s make a refreshing radish salad with a kick of wasabi, perfect for pairing with meats or topping on cold noodles. Its crisp texture and sweet-and-sour flavor are absolutely delightful!
Radish Salad Ingredients- Fresh Daikon Radish: About 1/4 of a medium radish (adjust quantity as desired)
- Granulated Sugar: 2 Tbsp
- Salt: A pinch (to draw out moisture and season)
- Wasabi Paste (tube): A pinch (adjust to taste)
- Vinegar (rice or apple cider): Generous amount (for a good tang)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, select a fresh and firm daikon radish. The recipe quantity is approximate, so feel free to adjust the amount of radish according to your preference.

Step 2
Peel the outer skin of the radish with a knife and then rinse it thoroughly under running water. Pat it dry.

Step 3
Using a mandoline slicer or a knife, julienne the radish into thin, fine strips. Thinner strips will absorb the dressing better and have a more pleasant texture.

Step 4
Place the julienned radish in a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar to impart sweetness.

Step 5
Add a pinch of salt to season the radish and help draw out excess moisture. Be careful not to add too much.

Step 6
Add wasabi paste to your liking for that signature zesty flavor. It’s best to start with a small amount and add more after tasting, adjusting to your preference.

Step 7
Pour in a generous amount of vinegar to provide a refreshing sourness. Enough vinegar to partially submerge the radish strips will ensure a flavorful result.

Step 8
Now, stir the dressing ingredients (sugar, salt, and wasabi) with a spoon or tongs until the sugar and salt are fully dissolved in the vinegar. Ensure there are no sugar granules remaining.

Step 9
Add all the julienned radish to the well-mixed, sweet-and-sour dressing. Gently toss to coat the radish evenly with the sauce.

Step 10
Transfer the salad to an airtight container, cover, and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. Shake the container occasionally during chilling for even better flavor distribution.

Step 11
Your super simple wasabi radish salad is ready! Its crisp, refreshing, and zesty taste makes it a wonderful accompaniment to any meal.
