[Healthy Homemade Drink] How to Make a Smooth and Sweet Sweet Potato Latte
We’ve made a healthy and delicious sweet potato latte using sweet, seasonal sweet potatoes. Enjoy this comforting and nutritious beverage!
Ingredients- 100g sweet potato (approx. 1/2 medium sweet potato)
- 200ml milk (approx. 1 cup)
- 1 tbsp honey (adjust sweetness to your liking)
- A little sliced almond (for garnish, optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare 100g of sweet potato. This is about half of a medium-sized sweet potato. Peel it thoroughly, then cut it into 4-5 large chunks so it’s easy to put in the blender.
Step 2
Place the cut sweet potato pieces into your blender. Next, warm up 200ml of milk and pour it into the blender. Finally, add 1 tablespoon of honey for sweetness. You can adjust the amount of honey based on the natural sweetness of your sweet potato and your personal preference.
Step 3
Secure the blender lid and blend until all ingredients are smooth and creamy. If the mixture seems too thick, add a little more milk gradually until you reach your desired consistency. I used 100g of sweet potato with 200ml of milk, but feel free to adjust this ratio for a creamier or thinner latte.
Step 4
Once everything is blended beautifully, pour the sweet potato latte into your favorite mug. For an extra warm treat, you can microwave it for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. While this step alone makes a delicious latte, we’re going to add some frothy milk on top for an appealing presentation.
Step 5
There are two easy ways to create that lovely milk foam. Using a milk frother is the quickest method. If you don’t have one, pour about 50ml of milk into a clean jar with a lid, then shake it vigorously. Keep shaking for about 1-2 minutes until you achieve a nice frothy texture.
Step 6
Carefully spoon the freshly made milk foam onto the sweet potato latte. This will give your homemade drink a cafe-quality look.
Step 7
Finally, to personalize your latte, sprinkle a little cinnamon powder or top with some sliced almonds for added texture and flavor. Enjoy your simple, warm, and sweet homemade sweet potato latte!
