Main Ingredients- 1L Water
- 2 cups Pollock Roe (Al)
- 3 pieces Pollack Roe Sacs (Goni)
- A piece of Radish (about 1/4 of a small radish)
- 1/2 block Tofu
Seasoning & Others- 3 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili powder)
- 1 Tbsp Mushroom Powder (e.g., shiitake mushroom powder)
- 2 Tbsp Mirin (rice wine)
- 1 tsp Soy Sauce or Salt (to taste)
- 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1/2 stalk Green Onion (chopped)
- 3 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili powder)
- 1 Tbsp Mushroom Powder (e.g., shiitake mushroom powder)
- 2 Tbsp Mirin (rice wine)
- 1 tsp Soy Sauce or Salt (to taste)
- 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 1/2 stalk Green Onion (chopped)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Start by pouring 1 liter of fresh water into a ttukbaegi (earthenware pot) and bring it to a boil over high heat.
Step 2
Slice the radish thinly, about 0.5 cm thick, into bite-sized pieces (nabak-style).
Step 3
Once the water is rapidly boiling, add 3 tablespoons of gochugaru and stir well until the broth turns a deep red color. Boiling the water first ensures the gochugaru dissolves smoothly without clumping.
Step 4
Add the sliced radish to the now reddish broth and let it simmer for a bit. When the radish starts to turn slightly translucent, carefully add the cleaned pollack roe and pollack gonis. Handle them gently to prevent them from breaking.
Step 5
Now it’s time for seasoning! Add 1 tablespoon of mushroom powder, 2 tablespoons of mirin, 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, and 1 teaspoon of soy sauce or salt to adjust the flavor. Once it comes to a boil, reduce the heat to medium-low, add the tofu, and simmer for another 5 minutes to allow the flavors to meld into the ingredients.
Step 6
Finally, add a generous amount of chopped green onions and let it simmer briefly. Serve immediately while hot with a bowl of steamed rice for a delicious meal!
