Porridge Ingredients

  • 1 serving cooked rice (approx. 200g)
  • 8 fresh abalone innards
  • Appropriate amount of cooked octopus (finely chopped)

Seasoning and Garnish

  • 1 Tbsp sesame oil
  • A little soy sauce or salt (to taste)
  • 1 egg yolk (optional)
  • A pinch of sesame seeds (for garnish)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the fresh abalone innards. Wash 8 abalone innards thoroughly, place them in a bowl, add 200ml of water, and blend until smooth using a blender or mixer. It’s important to achieve a fine, lump-free consistency.

Finely chop the cooked octopus into bite-sized pieces. Heat 1 Tbsp of sesame oil in a pot over medium-low heat. Add the chopped octopus and a pinch of salt. Sauté until fragrant, stirring constantly to bring out the octopus’s flavor without burning.

Pour the blended abalone innard mixture into the pot with the sautéed octopus. Stir well to combine, allowing the rich flavor of the abalone innards to meld with the octopus.

Add an additional 300ml of water to the pot. The amount of liquid is crucial for achieving the desired porridge consistency, so feel free to adjust it according to your preference.

Add the prepared 1 serving of cooked rice to the pot. Break up any clumps of rice and ensure it’s evenly mixed with the abalone innards and octopus.

Now, simmer over low heat, stirring continuously to prevent sticking to the bottom of the pot, until the rice grains are completely broken down and the porridge is thick and creamy. Once it reaches your desired consistency, season with soy sauce or salt to your taste. Finally, gently place an egg yolk on top of the warm porridge and sprinkle with sesame seeds for a visually appealing and delicious finish! Enjoy your meal.
