Tender & Juicy Shrimp Gambas al Ajillo
Super Easy Shrimp Gambas al Ajillo Recipe for a Perfect Home Party
Craving Gambas al Ajillo? I whipped this up with ingredients I had on hand! It’s perfect with a cold beer in the evening. ♡ Enjoy this simple yet flavorful Spanish tapa!
Main Ingredients- 20 fresh shrimp (medium or large shrimp, peeled and deveined)
- 15 cloves garlic (essential for that rich flavor!)
- 1 Korean green chili pepper (for a touch of heat)
- 3 cups olive oil (use generously for best results)
Seasoning- 3 pinches salt (adjust to taste)
- 3 pinches black pepper (to your preference)
- 3 pinches salt (adjust to taste)
- 3 pinches black pepper (to your preference)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the garlic. Peel 15 cloves of garlic and slice them thinly into rounds. If you’re a big garlic fan, feel free to increase the amount to 20 cloves or more – more garlic means a deeper, richer flavor!
Step 2
In a heated pan or an oven-safe dish, pour in the sliced garlic and about 3 cups of olive oil. Gently heat over low to medium-low heat. Allow the garlic to infuse its aroma into the oil slowly. Cook until the garlic turns a pale golden color, being careful not to burn it. This slow infusion is key to developing the dish’s signature flavor.
Step 3
Once the garlic aroma has fully permeated the oil, finely chop the Korean green chili pepper and add it to the pan for a gentle kick of heat. You can adjust the amount of chili to your liking. Then, add the 20 cleaned shrimp. Cook for about 7 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque and are cooked through. Finally, season with 3 pinches of salt and 3 pinches of black pepper. Taste and add more salt if needed to achieve your desired seasoning.
Step 4
Your delicious Gambas al Ajillo is ready! Serve immediately while it’s warm for the best taste experience. It’s wonderful served with crusty bread for dipping into the flavorful oil. 🥂
