  • Category : Western food
  • Ingredient Category : Seafood
  • Occasion : Quick & Easy
  • Cooking : Grilled / Roasted
  • Servings : 2 servings
  • Cooking Time : Within 30 minutes
  • Difficulty : Anyone

Main Ingredients

  • Fresh Salmon Fillet, 250-300g
  • Fresh Green Beans, 150g

Green Bean Seasoning

  • Salt, 1/2 tsp
  • Sugar, 2 pinches

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare 150g of green beans. Bring a pot of water to a boil with a pinch of salt, and blanch the green beans for 1-2 minutes until slightly tender-crisp. Immediately rinse them under cold water to maintain their crispness. Make sure to drain them thoroughly.

Step 1

Step 2

Heat 1 Tbsp of oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the blanched green beans and stir-fry until they begin to turn slightly translucent. Season with 1/2 tsp of salt and 2 pinches of sugar, stirring lightly. Transfer the stir-fried green beans to a separate plate.

Step 2

Step 3

In the same pan used for the green beans, add another 1 Tbsp of butter and melt it. Place the prepared salmon fillet in the pan and cook over medium heat. Salmon is delicate, so avoid flipping it too often to prevent it from breaking apart. Cook one side until golden brown, then carefully flip it only once to cook the other side. Once the salmon is cooked through, remove it to another plate.

Step 3

Step 4

To the pan where the salmon was cooked, add all the ingredients for the glaze sauce: 2 Tbsp soy sauce, 2 Tbsp ketchup, 3 Tbsp water, 2 Tbsp sugar, and 1 tsp hot sauce.

Step 4

Step 5

Bring the sauce in the pan to a simmer over medium heat. You should see large bubbles starting to form in the center of the sauce.

Step 5

Step 6

Once the sauce is simmering, return the cooked salmon to the pan. Reduce the heat to medium-low and let it simmer until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the salmon. Flip the salmon once midway through to ensure it’s evenly coated with the sauce.

Step 6

Step 7

Arrange the finished salmon steak and sautéed green beans beautifully on a serving plate. This recipe is easy to make and packed with savory flavor. It tasted even more delicious because my loving daughter made it for me! For an extra touch with the green beans, consider sprinkling toasted sliced almonds or cashews for added texture.
