Main Ingredients- Beef (Bulgogi cut) 300g
- Glass noodles (pre-soaked) 1/2 handful
- King oyster mushrooms 1 pack
- Green onions 4 stalks
- Cheongyang chili pepper 1
Fruit & Vegetable Blender Ingredients- Pear 1/6
- Apple 1/6
- Onion 1/6
- Water 1 cup (200ml)
Special Marinade- Soy sauce 7-8 Tbsp
- Brown sugar 2 Tbsp
- Cheongju (rice wine) 1 Tbsp
- Minced garlic 1 Tbsp
- Sesame oil 1 Tbsp
- Black pepper to taste
- Pear 1/6
- Apple 1/6
- Onion 1/6
- Water 1 cup (200ml)
Special Marinade- Soy sauce 7-8 Tbsp
- Brown sugar 2 Tbsp
- Cheongju (rice wine) 1 Tbsp
- Minced garlic 1 Tbsp
- Sesame oil 1 Tbsp
- Black pepper to taste
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the fruit and vegetable ingredients for the blender that will determine the bulgogi’s flavor. Peel and cut the pear, apple, and onion into appropriate sizes (about 2-3 cm). This step helps the fruits and vegetables blend smoothly.
Step 2
Place the cut pear, apple, onion, and 1 cup (200ml) of water into a blender and blend until smooth. It’s important to blend thoroughly until you have a smooth puree without any chunks. This fruit and vegetable puree will tenderize the meat and add natural sweetness.
Step 3
To the smooth fruit and vegetable puree, add the special marinade ingredients: 7-8 Tbsp soy sauce, 2 Tbsp brown sugar, 1 Tbsp cheongju (rice wine), 1 Tbsp minced garlic, 1 Tbsp sesame oil, and a pinch of black pepper. Mix well to complete the marinade. Stir until all ingredients are evenly combined.
Step 4
Prepare 300g of beef (bulgogi cut), the main ingredient. Using paper towels, gently press and remove the blood from the surface of the beef. Removing the blood is crucial for eliminating any gamey odor and achieving a clean taste.
Step 5
Add the bloood-removed beef to the prepared delicious marinade and gently mix by hand until well coated. After mixing thoroughly so the marinade is evenly distributed, cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 20 minutes. This marinating process allows the meat to absorb the flavors, making it more tender and flavorful.
Step 6
While the meat is marinating, prepare the accompanying vegetables. Cut the green onions into 4-5 cm lengths and thinly slice the Cheongyang chili pepper for a touch of spiciness. Trim the base of the king oyster mushrooms and separate them into strands. These vegetables will add texture and color to the bulgogi.
Step 7
In a large pot or pan, add the marinated beef and heat over high heat. Once the meat starts to cook, reduce the heat to medium. Skim off any foam (impurities) that rises to the surface. When the liquid begins to boil, add 1/2 cup (100ml) of water and the pre-soaked glass noodles. Cook until the glass noodles become transparent.
Step 8
When the glass noodles are almost cooked, add the prepared king oyster mushrooms, green onions, and Cheongyang chili pepper. After adding the vegetables, be careful not to overcook them. Gently mix to combine all ingredients.
Step 9
Finally, simmer for a little longer until all ingredients are tender and the sauce is slightly reduced. Be careful not to over-reduce the sauce, as it might become too salty. Your delicious beef bulgogi is ready! Enjoy it with a warm bowl of rice.
