Steak Ingredients- 400g Beef steak cut (recommend a thick cut)
- 2 Tbsp Olive oil
- Herb salt (or salt and pepper) to taste
- 1 Tbsp Minced garlic
- Fresh rosemary or thyme sprigs (optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, gently pat the beef steak dry with paper towels to remove any excess moisture. Removing the blood is crucial for a clean taste and to prevent unwanted odors. Once dried, brush both sides of the steak with olive oil. Then, generously season the steak on both sides with herb salt (or regular salt and pepper). If you have steak-specific herb salt, it will enhance the flavor beautifully.
Step 2
Line your air fryer basket with parchment paper and place the seasoned steak inside. Preheat the air fryer to 180°C (350°F) and cook for 6 minutes. After 6 minutes, carefully flip the steak over. Arrange the whole garlic cloves on top of the steak. Return it to the air fryer and cook for another 6 minutes at 180°C (350°F), for a total of 12 minutes. Cooking time may vary depending on the thickness of your steak and your air fryer model. You can add 1-2 extra minutes if you prefer your steak more well-done.
Step 3
While the steak is cooking, prepare the accompanying vegetables. Thinly slice the onion and cut the zucchini into half-moon shapes or bite-sized pieces. Lightly smash the whole garlic cloves with the side of a knife or slice them. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onion, zucchini, and garlic to the pan. Sprinkle a little herb salt over the vegetables as they sauté, cooking until they are nicely browned and tender. The vegetables will release a lovely sweetness that complements the steak.
Step 4
To prepare the rice, press it firmly into a bowl, then invert the bowl onto a plate to create a shaped mound. Sprinkle parsley flakes over the rice for a touch of color. Slice the cooked steak into your desired serving portions and arrange it attractively on the plate next to the rice. Add the sautéed vegetables and a small portion of fresh baby greens. Drizzle a little balsamic glaze or sauce over the baby greens for a zesty contrast. Finally, pour your preferred steak sauce or tonkatsu sauce over the sliced beef. Enjoy your restaurant-quality steak, made effortlessly at home!
