Sweet & Tangy Strawberry Caipirinha
Crafting a Strawberry Caipirinha | Your Go-To Spring Cocktail Recipe
Elevate your Caipirinha experience with this delightful strawberry twist! This recipe uses fresh strawberries, often available at great prices towards the end of the season. As mentioned in a previous video, the Caipirinha is wonderfully versatile, and today, we’re showcasing its fruity potential with these juicy strawberries. Perfect for welcoming the gentle vibes of spring, this cocktail brings a burst of fresh flavor right to your home.
Ingredients- Cachaça 1.5 oz (45ml)
- Sugar 2.5 tsp
- 5 Fresh Strawberries
- 1/4 Lime
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Begin by cutting the 1/4 lime into three wedges. Place these lime wedges into your cocktail glass. The citrus notes from the lime will provide a refreshing base for the drink.
Step 2
Wash the strawberries thoroughly and remove their green tops. Chop them into small, manageable pieces (about 1-2 cm) that are easy to muddle.
Step 3
Add the chopped strawberries to the glass, then sprinkle the 2.5 tsp of sugar over them. Using a muddler, the back of a rolling pin, or even a sturdy spoon, gently muddle the strawberries. The goal is to release their juices and combine them with the sugar, not to pulverize them completely.
Step 4
Fill the glass generously with crushed ice. Crushed ice chills the drink quickly and helps in melding the flavors.
Step 5
Carefully pour the 1.5 oz (45ml) of Cachaça into the glass. Cachaça is a Brazilian spirit made from sugarcane juice, offering a unique, slightly grassy flavor profile.
Step 6
Using a bar spoon or a long spoon, gently stir the contents of the glass to combine the ingredients. Top up the glass with more crushed ice to keep it chilled and full.
Step 7
For a final touch, garnish with a fresh strawberry slice or a strawberry top. This adds visual appeal and an extra hint of strawberry aroma. Cheers to enjoying the taste of spring with this delightful Strawberry Caipirinha!
